Jarrod Raper said his parents first “threw me on a sled” when he was around 6, and he was immediately hooked on snowmobiling. He started purchasing his own snowmobiles at age 12, and has owned five sleds in the six years since then. He’s known around Steamboat Springs for leading backcountry rides, and he thrives on “the connection you make with other people, taking them out riding and experiencing true backcountry riding.”
John grew up in Richmond, Illinois. Elevation 500 ft population 1200.
I was a skier when I was young and had a friend that got me interested in snowmobiling. Snowmobiling as a kid in Illinois was tough in the 80’s but it was enough to keep me devoted. After college I moved to Colorado in 1991 and made it my life. I have been a part of the ski and snow industry since the 90’s, building halfpipes and terrain parks, and filming in the backcountry with some of the best filmers in the industry. My passion for riding led to the creation of Nekkr, a snowmobile accessory that allows riders to stay out all day and guard against cold, wind, snow and frostbite. I fell in love with snowmobiling and going where no one has been, picking lines that change the outcome of my life. I like to ride all over but north central Colorado is where I ride the most. Respecting a non motorized enthusiast will go farther than you think. Be sure to wave, otherwise they will think the worst.

A eastern Colorado native, Blaine Klawiter grew up in Greeley Colorado. At in early age Blaine developed a passion for the mountains and the freedom of the outdoors. His father introduced him to snowmobiling at a early age at his grandfather’s lake on a John Deere 340. Shortly after the whole family had sleds of their own. The freedom of snowmobiling eventually turned into an obsession. Moving to Breckenridge in 2006 Blaine found himself avoiding long lift lines by taking his snowboard and snowmobile into the backcountry. Constantly evaluating snow pack and improving his backcountry skills by taking outdoor orienteering, avalanche one and two classes at CMC. Blaine pushes his passion for the sport by sharing it with others.
As a Steamboat Springs native, I grew up being outdoors as much as possible, wether it be RZR riding in the summer, hunting in the fall or snowmobiling in the winter. I am thankful to have found activities that could get me outside year round. My passion for the great outdoors is huge and I’m excited to be able to show everyone why the outdoors truly are so great.
